The project I've been talking about for years is on it's way. Here's a sample until I can get it published
6/10/08
I posted this on Obama's MySpace
To counter McCain's lame tax break on gas, how about you introduce the possibility of no more foreign oil. It'll weaken our dollar because oil is traded on the dollar, but we can make it back by having the government stockpile be the sole proprietor. Some conservatives might not like it but just ask them "So you trust the Saudi government more than ours?"
6/9/08
I've been interested in how cell phones will come into literature, it's started to sneak into my work.
6/6/08
I posted a blog up on Comixtalk, hoping it would get more eyeballs than just posting it in the usual places
5/29/08
I realize I never updated the MENTAL strip last month so here it is

I'm finally done with the HellaCoachella series. I averaged 48 minutes each page, the last one took an hour and a half thanks to all the dialogue.HellaCoachella 24 or start from the beginning and read the whole series HellaCoachella 1
5/22/08
I often have typos in my comics, the Coachella comics invite them in greater numbers because I have to write them backwards. Why? I'm left handed so I have to start on the right side of the page and work my way left or there will be smudges all over the thing and ink all over my hands. HellaCoachella 23
5/21/08
Caught up! I just need to keep it up the next two days. HellaCoachella 22
5/21/08
There is a Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann on tonight so I should be able to be completely caught up tonight. Until then HellaCoachella 21

I just upgraded some software so I'm running into some glitches that are slowing me down, but here's the new HellaCoachella.
5/9/08
After staring at this page for over a week, It took me less than two hours to draw.
5/8/08
Fatboy Slim in the HizzellaCoachezzle 9. Also you can see a commisioned piece of mine in the new issue of Vermont's "The Commons"
5/7/08
I was so busy gloating to myself about Hillary Clinton being pronounced dead I almost forgot to post HellaCoachella 8.
5/6/08
Nail biter of a primary in Indiana. So close Hillary was called the "Apparent" winner by MSNBC. Yes they included the quotes, those weren't mine. It seems (or should I say "apparently") Obama can still take it with absentee votes. So the jury is still out. Anyway HellaCoachella 7
5/5/08
I get thrown off on the days I can't draw these things during Countdown. So I'm caught up now.
5/5/08
This would have been done yesterday but I fell asleep at the helm.
5/3/08
It takes sickness to sit through "Malabu's Most Wanted" but not to procrastinate on this edition
5/2/08
If I would have thought about it more I would have made it a haiku.
5/1/08
HellaCoachella may be an annoying title but I think from the second comic you may understand it's use in my social circle.
4/30/08
I not only went to Coachella and lived to tell about it, I'm drawing 24 one hour comics about it.
4/21/08
Did you for get he had them? Because I am assuming you've been reading from the beginning
4/17/08
Fuck I'm getting old, but I'm not there yet (next year is thirty). That's right it's my birthday. Same as any other day except my girlfriend is even more likely to have sex with me. Here's your new MENTAL.

I sent this to Obama:
regarding the bitter comments for the debate and for anybody
to use in the mini debates around water coolers and such (Though If mister Obama
repeats these as written he'll be talking in the third):
If Hillary or a supporter says that people were offended by being called bitter
respond with "If you're not bitter Obama wasn't talking about you"
If Hillary or a supporter says people were offended by saying that they were "Clinging" respond by saying that by clinging Obama meant "voting primarily or even solely on"
If Hillary or a supporter denies that people aren't voting against their economic interest ask her how do so many republicans that give tax breaks to the rich stay in office.
If Hillary or a supporter accuses Obama of calling people racist correct them. He never said anything about race. But there are people who vote because of anger over gays and 'welfare single mothers'
If Hillary or a supporter says that Obama is out of touch or an elitist then ask why Hillary was hinting that she'd make him vice president.
If Hillary or a supporter brings that the comments were made behind closed doors to donors counter "What part of what Obama said would he not say in a stump speech other than the criticism of Bill Clinton?"
If Hillary or a supporter accuse Obama of psycho analyzing voters correct her/them
that Obama was merely pointing out a trend. It was no different than talking
about soccer moms or Nascar dads.
And if Hillary or a supporter refers to Obama's statement as a gaffe correct
them and point out that this is a conversation that needs to be had if we want
values voters to examine their own motivations. Which will be the only way to
overcome the policies pushed by lobbiest over that of regular people.
4/11/08
I've added a couple of illustrations to my Illustration page.
4/10/08
I'm not sure if it is helping or hurting the graphic novel that I keep hoping back in time to the comic strip, but that won't stop me from continuing it.
4/8/08
I've been listening to the Surge report. It isn't worth it, because Crocker and Petraus are (intentionally or not) evasive. A large part of this is because they can only talk about Iraq in the context of Iraq. They can not talk about whether or not our resource would be better spent on, say Afganistan or here at home. We would need Bob Gates for that, and I don't think it's a coincidence that he isn't there. Here's some pictures of my new puppy: Spunkette
cute right?

At first I thought I didn't hold the camera still but then I noticed only one thing was blurry. Now you know why she has her name.

picture of her wondering what the hell my girlfriend is doing.

a very typical scene...
4/7/08
McCain says the context of his 100 years in Iraq statement is that he meant that there is nothing wrong with occupying a country for 100 years as long as there isn't American casualties. I disagree, but more importantly McCain is ignoring the reality of Iraq. There isn't a 42nd parallel in Iraq to separate the rival factions, as in the case in Korea. And unlike Japan, Iraq is in a civil war. Today on MSNBC a McCain adviser blew off the criticism that if McCain is going to offer us to stay in other countries then he still needs to propose a time line for how long he is willing to wait for peace. In other words: When is this century of occupation going to start, since McCain's clarification implies that the 100 years hasn't started.
But what really has me annoyed is that after repeatedly saying that Obama has misrepresented his statements, he goes on to misrepresent Obama. In a speech today McCain characterized Obama's position as an unconditional withdrawal which would result in a re-invasion (which I think was his word), despite Obama's position that "We have to be as careful getting out as we were careless going in."
4/6/08
Yes another page of MENTAL down! Only 52 left to go...But more importantly I went back and fixed Chase's t-shirt in the previous one.
4/5/08
One of my girlfriend's pals was over and he asked "Did someone just put on some really strong cologne?" and my girlfriend was like "No that's just Nick's man-musk." On that note here's MENTAL.
3/29/08
This is totally true. My friend from junior high was at a party and started telling us this story. It really touched me so I got together with him later to take the photos for this comic.
3/26/08
The bad thing about using photoshop shortcuts is the fear that sets in while scanning a page that looks underdeveloped. But I was fairly happy once I got in all the security cameras (though I still have to go in and add Chase's shirt)
3/25/08
Part of Clinton's story was that she was in Bosnia because it was too dangerous for Bill, but that would be child abuse because 12 y/o Chelsea was also along. It's arguable that Senator Clinton forgot that Chelsea was there, which means we're expected to believe that Chelsea has never heard/contradicted the sniper version. But in an interview before the video came out she did seem to remember the little girl with a poem. Which means Clinton was willing to risk the young poet's life for reasons I can't fathom. Call me cynical, but I think the sniper version of the story was a lie designed to make the former First Lady look more important.
3/23/08
I don't see anything better for you to do, you might as well read the new page of MENTAL.

Hillary Clinton is just not going to drop this Florida/Michigan thing as
long as she thinks she has an unfair advantage. So the only way to resolve
this thing is to give the brat a compromise even she can't deny.
I've figured out a way that will probably split the thus-far-unseated delegates
evenly without the stupidity factor of splitting them up evenly. Ready? Here
we go:
Start by splitting the delegates of both states in half. One half will be
distributed according to the results of the primaries, giving Obama the uncommitted
votes in Michigan since Hillary Clinton was the only one on the ballot.
So right now, because the primaries were so close in these states, Hillary
would have a little more than a quarter of the delegates and Obama would have
a little less.
Then hold caucuses in both states, awarding the other half of the delegates
in proportion to the results.
This will probably result in Obama getting slightly more than a quarter of
the delegates and Hillary getting slightly less. With a grand total of not
much difference, but in a more satisfying way than simply breaking the delegates
in half.
I think this will be especially beneficial to Obama if he offers to pay for
the caucus.

I have a rant but you can skip it and look at the new drawing I've added to my portfolio(the blue one). Those are your two options.
Here's why I hate Hillary Clinton. I hate Bill Clinton. For the record, I am not an Obama supporter, I voted Ron Paul in the primaries. There is an ~25% chance I would vote Obama in the general vs. the 0% chance I would vote Hillary Clinton. The candidate I am most likely to vote for at this point is Cynthia McKinney (green party), assuming Ron Paul isn't running in the general as a Libertarian or something (more on this tomorrow).
So what does hating Bill Clinton have to do with hating Hillary? Because they are both the same brand of dishonest. The Clintons run on about a third of a percent truth on every lie and about forty percent lie on every truth. The latest example is this stupid media bias arguement she's been making lately.
It is true that the media hasn't been tough on Obama, but that is only because the media is lazy. Remember weapons of mass destruction? They didn't even bother checking out any of the 'evidence' that was already discredited by the Italian government (specifically the forged yellow cake document). Haven't you ever wondered how Chris Mathews can host shows six days a week? It's because he doesn't do any investigating, he just watches the polls and fundraising.
If Hillary Clinton was really being targeted by the media, it wouldn't have taken so long to ask "What experience?" They would ask about Rowanda when she criticizes Bush's inaction in Darfur. They would find out what she's not letting the Clinton Library release. They would have asked where she got the $5 million that she loaned her campaign. And when fucking Geraldine says that Obama has gotten where he has because he's black the same way she was nominated for VP because she is a woman; they would point out that by that standard the same can be said about Hillary.
3/13/08
Last night on the Daily Show they had the author of "Leave Us Alone", and much like Libertarians (and Ron Paul) says the government should only have a limited role. I agree with the concept, though I am worried about a possible ommision. The root of this philosophy is that a government is a monopoly, and any monopoly is bad. I would like to hear people with this Libertarian view discuss the cooperative models of certain industries. For instance gas companies make agreements on how much to charge, no I am not talking about OPEC, I am talking about state petrolium boards. I don't know these are things I think about. Chase doesn't think about these things
3/11/08
I'm back, and I brought him with me.

video 3
This clip is seen in at least two ways (for the record the evidence supports both)
Supporters: "This is exactly what we've been talking about. This is Hillary being real. Can't you see how much she cares about this country?"
Detractors: "She's faking it, or at least you have got to give me that she was using it when she launched into her stump speech thirty seconds after the waterworks came on. You know the woman who asked the question voted for Obama right?
video 2
I like that a mandate is okay for health insurance but not English. I'm a Ron Paul supporter, I don't like mandates for anything, but if you believe in mandates you believe people won't do anything unless we make them. So logically we must ask, why doesn't she want the some of the poorest people in the country to be able to understand what she says off the cuff?
video 1
I think she would be better as head of department of education. She likes bureaucracy and children...needs humility...
